A
historical monument. From the 21st century.

Taj Hari Mahal
Perhaps. it's easy to mistake the Taj Hari Mahal,
Jodhpur, for a medieval palace of a victorious
Marwar ruler. Built, as it is, in a style
reminiscent of ancient Mandore. With intricately
carved arches and wide terraces, sun-drenched
courtyards and picturesque jharokhas.
But
once you enter, your initial impression steadily
changes. For the Taj Hari Mahal, masterfully
blends elements of yore with contemporary
elegance. So you will find arched corridors giving
way to the most luxurious and comfortable rooms
and suites. Well equipped conference rooms
overlooking marble terraces. Chefs who whip up
traditional Marwari delicacies with as much
panache as Continental repasts. And courteous
assistance, not just in terms of making your stay
comfortable. But in making it memorable as well.
That is the Taj Hari Mahal for you. One of the
newest offerings of the Taj Group of Hotels. Want
to know more? Come, share a glimpse of the past,
with your feet firmly in the present...........
A
FINE PLACE TO LOUNGE
A
short drive past the landscaped gardens brings you
to the entrance of the hotel. Where instead of
fierce guards you will be greeted by a smiling
durban with characteristic curled whiskers. As you
enter, you can't miss the crossed swords, daggers
and shield - a distinct feature in a Rajput house.
A step
further, and you are in the grand Lobby.
Comfortable couches surround a sparkling marble
fountain. Stop for a minute to take in the cut
glass doorways, scalloped arches and the Jodhpuri
art, which peeks out from various corners.
A cosy,
secluded place for a tete-a-tete is the Jodhpur
Lounge . An extension of the Lobby. Discuss
Jodhpur, business, the weather or even the latest
royal wedding - all over a cuppa.
